28th South-Central Coast and Central Highlands region photo festival opens

On July 1, the 28th South-Central Coast and Central Highlands region Art Photography Festival was organised in Quang Ngai City.

The event was co-organised by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, and the Quang Ngai Provincial Literature and Arts Association, aiming to offer the chance for artists to meet, exchange ideas and show their artwork to the public.

With the theme "The country and people of the South-Central Coast and Central Highlands region", after more than three months of launching, the organising board received 2,012 works by 270 photographers from 10 provinces and cities: Binh Dinh, Quang Nam, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Quang Ngai and Da Nang city.

The works participating in this festival are of all types of photography, including Landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and daily life, showing the beauty of nature, landscapes and people following Uncle Ho’s example, as well as socio-economic development and the cultural lives of local people.

Through many rounds of online and in-person photo grading, the organising board and the jury selected 141 works of 87 photographers to enter the award selection round and display at the exhibition and selected 15 works to be awarded.

Which, the photo series "Da Nang City of Bridges" by author Le Quang Thien (Da Nang) won the Gold Medal.

In addition, the organising board also presented three Silver Medals, four Bronze Medals, seven Consolation prizes to the authors and three team prizes.
