Despite these positive outcomes, some shortcomings were noted for future improvement. These included delays in preparing certain proposals and plans, occasional lack of coordination and consistency in organising some activities, inadequate planning in verifying information and welcoming guests, and shortcomings in the televised broadcast of the celebration, particularly in terms of visual presentation.
For the upcoming 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, central agencies, ministries, and Ha Noi City are actively working on finalising plans and preparing necessary conditions to ensure all activities proceed on schedule.
Planned activities include incense and floral offering ceremonies in tribute of heroes and fallen soldiers; rallies, military and civil parades at Ba Dinh Square; scientific conferences; competitions; cultural performances; thematic exhibitions; patriotic emulation campaigns; gratitude activities; commemorative plaque ceremonies; and more.

Concluding the meeting, Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasised that the commemorative activities marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, especially key events such as the official ceremony, military parade, and scientific forums, were well-directed and well-executed, earning high praise from domestic and international audiences. These activities helped foster trust and pride in the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, reinforcing the country’s renewal efforts.
He commended the widespread, varied, and creative publicity campaigns, which fostered a deep political engagement across the Party and society. Agencies responsible for coordinating the major events demonstrated strong initiative, accountability, and successfully fulfilled their duties. Participating units in the parade trained diligently and cooperatively.
However, he also stressed the need for a candid review of the remaining shortcomings in order to do better in future commemorations. There must be no complacency or unpreparedness in any scenario.

Regarding the plan for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, he praised the efforts of various agencies, units, and localities in proactively developing specific and detailed proposals and plans.
Stressing that the time remaining before the commemoration is short, and the workload immense and demanding, he instructed committee members to maintain close and timely coordination, ensure alignment with orientations and quality standards, and stay on track. They must continuously supervise progress and promptly resolve challenges faced by localities, agencies, and units.
Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu assigned tasks to relevant ministries, sectors, mass organisations, localities, and agencies. He asked the PCC’s Commission for Communications, Education and Mass Mobilisation to finalise the overall plan and begin implementation within the first half of June. This includes the coordination for the organisation of a major exhibition showcasing the country’s achievements over the past 80 years, 40 years of Doi Moi (Renewal), and launching information and communication activities for the anniversary.
Ha Noi must complete and issue its celebration plan within the first half of June, in accordance with the directions of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the committee. The PCC Office should work closely with relevant bodies to monitor preparations and ensure thorough logistical support.
The Ministry of National Defence is to finalise and issue the military and civil parade plan by mid-June and initiate parade rehearsals. The Ministry of Public Security must ensure absolute safety and security for all commemorative activities — not only in Ha Noi but nationwide.
Politburo member Tu also tasked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with leading the organisation of a special artistic programme and other celebratory cultural, artistic, and sporting events. He emphasised that such events should be scheduled early and coordinated with the parade programme to ensure national-level solemnity and scale.
The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics is to ensure the quality of the commemorative speech and coordinate early organisation of scientific conferences. The Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee is responsible for coordinating with relevant bodies to arrange visits and meetings between Party and state leaders and individuals with meritorious service to the nation, and to promote activities in support of policy-beneficiary families.
The Ministry of Home Affairs was required to promptly report on individuals recognised for their contributions during the resistance wars and complete commendations for individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
