Demand for travel to Ha Noi during National Day holiday surges 44 times

Ha Noi is becoming the focal point of domestic tourism as accommodation searches in the capital during this year’s National Day (September 2) holiday have risen by an astonishing 4,418% (more than 44 times) compared to the same period last year.

This year, in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution’s success (August 19, 1945–August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945–September 2, 2025), people across the country have eagerly searched for accommodation in Ha Noi well in advance to attend the parade and special commemorative activities.

Currently, the capital city of Ha Noi is becoming the centre of domestic tourism, with the number of accommodation searches during the National Day (September 2) holiday increasing by an astonishing 4,418% compared to the same period last year.

This data was collected by the online travel platform Agoda, based on accommodation searches conducted from April 1 to May 20 for check-in dates from August 30 to September 3, compared with the same period in 2024.

According to Agoda, the top five most searched domestic destinations are Ha Noi, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Da Lat, and Vung Tau.

Compared to the 2024 holiday period, Vietnamese people appear to be planning more holidays this year, with total travel search volume increasing by 104%, with domestic travel up 135% and international travel up 72%.

For the outbound market, the most searched cities from Vietnam include Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Bali (Indonesia), and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
