This event marks 17 years of accompanying the manufacturing industry and more than two decades of sustainable cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan in the development of supporting industries.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vu Ba Phu, Director General of the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, affirmed that the Viet Nam–Japan partnership has continued to expand and deepen across multiple sectors, with supporting industries standing out as a key highlight. Japanese enterprises have not only made substantial investments in Viet Nam but also actively transferred technology, management standards, and connected supply chains with Vietnamese businesses.
“This exhibition is a vivid demonstration of that sustainable cooperation,” he said, adding that it is not only a venue for showcasing advanced products and technologies but also an effective bridge between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises; and that it is a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to understand market needs, improve management capacity, expand business cooperation, and gradually become suppliers in the global value chain.
Varaporn Dhamcharee, General Director of RX Tradex Thailand and Viet Nam, the event organiser, shared that, despite global economic uncertainties, Viet Nam continues to emerge as an attractive destination for foreign investment. According to data from the General Statistics Office, in the first six months of 2025, disbursed FDI in Viet Nam was estimated at 11.72 billion USD, an increase of 8.1% year-on-year, and the highest figure in the past five years. Notably, the processing and manufacturing sector accounted for 81.6% of total capital with 9.56 billion USD, demonstrating the sector’s strong growth potential. This opens up opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to proactively enhance capabilities, integrate deeper into global supply chains, and access advanced technology trends.
“This year’s exhibition is organised with the aim of promoting technology transfer, expanding supply networks, and supporting supporting-industry and manufacturing enterprises to accelerate modernisation. The event is expected to attract over 10,000 professional visitors from more than 30 countries, active in key industrial sectors such as electronics, automotive, precision engineering, construction, plastics and chemicals,” said Varaporn Dhamcharee.
Haruhiko Ozasa, Chief Representative of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Ha Noi, also emphasised that strengthening linkages between Japanese and Vietnamese businesses goes beyond technology transfer or workforce training – it is a joint strategy to enhance the sustainability of regional value chains. The VME & SIE 2025 exhibition is a convergence of technological innovation, partnership connectivity, and strategic vision for Viet Nam’s industrial development in the new era.
A highlight of VME & SIE 2025 is the expanded international exhibition scale, not only in terms of the number of brands but also in technical depth. The event is designed as a comprehensive platform, integrating a series of specialised activities to deliver the highest practical value to the participating business community. From experiencing the latest technologies, connecting with strategic partners, to participating in multilateral trade promotion activities, every element aims to support businesses in enhancing competitiveness, expanding markets, and deeply integrating into global value chains.
