The event attracted the participation of 16 painters, who are members of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, with four of them working in military-run units, six veterans, and three lecturers from art schools.

The painters are encouraged to compose paintings on such topics as patriotism, the determination to protect national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the glorious tradition of the Vietnamese and the people’s armed forces during the national construction and defence.

The artworks should also focus on major campaigns, including the ‘Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle’ and ‘Promoting tradition, dedicating talents, deserving the title of Uncle Ho's army’ movements.

The event, which runs until April 28, aims to foster the development of art in military-run units while providing an opportunity for participating artists to share their experience in composing artworks with higher quality and aesthetic values.
