The event is one of activities to mark the 4th annual Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025.
This book series holds special significance in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Great Spring Victory in 1975.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, praised the People's Army Publishing House for its proactive planning and successful mobilisation of a wide range of authors, both military and civilian, to compile and publish a series of books that offer deep and diverse insights. The series comprehensively highlights the contributions of the entire Party, the armed forces, and the Vietnamese people.
Under the direction of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the People's Army Publishing House edited and published the book series “Commemorating 50th anniversary of south liberation, national reunification (1975–2025)”, comprising 15 titles.
On this occasion, the People's Army Publishing House also partnered with Vietnambook – Vietnam Cultural Knowledge Joint Stock Company – to publish and distribute the series more widely, reaching military personnel and civilians across the country.
Aiming to mark to the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution and the National Day on September 2, the People's Army Publishing House plans to continue releasing valuable works on the nation’s struggle for liberation and reunification, as well as the achievements in national development, construction, and defence in the present era.
