The province has a total 29,700ha of lychee in 2023, with a total output of over 180,000 tonnes scheduled to be harvested from May 20 to July 30. Of which, 205ha are eligible for export to the US market, with an estimated volume of 1,500 tonnes of lychee.

Leaders of Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade said that the US is a high-potential market with great purchasing power but demands high quality and has strict requirements for quarantine and food safety. Therefore, lychee and other agricultural products exported to the US face difficulties in regards to transportation costs, delivery time, irradiation, preservation technology, etc.

He noted that Bac Giang is committed to creating the best conditions for businesses to come the province to invest in the production and export of lychee. All recommendations of businesses will be handled by the provincial leaders so that the lychee can promptly reach the American people.
