The event, co-organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), the Bac Kan provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), was attended by Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Truong Thi Mai.

Through the programme, 100,000 trees will be planted, worth over VND900 million, in Bac Kan, with the desire to add a green hue to the revolutionary relic, alongside the preservation of the country's natural beauty for future generations.

The ‘One Million Green Trees for Vietnam’ Fund, organised by the MONRE and Vinamilk aims to call upon communities to plant more green trees in residential and public areas, streets and schools in big cities nationwide, as well as growing more trees for local communities throughout the country to improve the living environment.

Since 2012, the programme has planted trees in over 20 provinces and cities across the country with a total of more than 500,000 trees, valued at over an estimated VND7 billion.
