The Bac Ninh Fruit Festival, taking place from December 5–10, aims to honour and promote the province’s agricultural products; to connect gardeners, businesses, and cooperatives with distribution networks for trade promotion; and boost agricultural tourism while showcasing the image of a prosperous, dynamic Bac Ninh rich in cultural heritage and making strong strides in development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Pham Van Thinh, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee and Head of the Festival Organising Board, emphasised: “The 2025 Bac Ninh Fruit Festival has become a remarkable highlight of an agricultural sector asserting its new position. The festival is held on a large scale, with an open and experiential design that allows visitors not only to observe but also to ‘live’ amidst the ripening fruit season.”

Nearly 200 booths bring together signature produce from various farming areas, ranging from fresh fruit and processed goods to agricultural models applying modern technology. Livestream sales activities, distribution links via e-commerce platforms, and the participation of content creators are helping Bac Ninh’s products advance more strongly in the digital marketplace, opening the door for local specialities to reach regional and global markets.

Bac Ninh Province currently has nearly 54,000 hectares of fruit trees, including over 8,600 hectares of citrus. Annual output exceeds 80,000 tonnes, with a total value of around 1.8 trillion VND. The area of VietGAP-certified orange cultivation covers more than 1,700 hectares, while VietGAP-certified pomelo spans over 3,700 hectares.

A key highlight of the 2025 Bac Ninh Fruit Festival is its innovative approach, harmoniously blending culture, tourism, and technology to expand markets, enhance product value, and support farmers, businesses, and cooperatives in their integration journey. Alongside the display of fruit and agricultural products, the festival also features exhibitions and the provision of farming tools, machinery, and production–preservation–processing technologies; demonstrations of e-commerce activities; and a food court.

At the opening ceremony, the Organising Board auctioned four orange trees, raising hundreds of millions of VND to support residents in Central and Central Highlands regions affected by natural disasters.

During the festival, nightly art performances introducing the local ethnic cultural identity will be staged to serve visitors. Additionally, fruit art arrangement competitions, fruit-eating contests, and culinary creativity events using various fruits will be held, along with the introduction of tourist sites and visits to flower and fruit gardens.
