The Gia Binh International Airport project is one of the key works selected to commence on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).
At the site of the groundbreaking ceremony (Thu Phap Hamlet, Gia Binh Commune), Bac Ninh authorities, the investor, and related units are urgently putting the necessary conditions in place to ensure a solemn and safe ceremony.
The investor and contractors are focusing on completing the central marquee and working with Viet Nam Television to finalise the programme and script for the event. A full rehearsal is scheduled for August 18.

During his on-site inspection, after hearing progress reports from relevant units, Tuan commended their proactive efforts and urged the investor and related parties to work closely together to accelerate the preparations for the ceremony. He stressed that safety, technical standards, and aesthetics must be strictly observed in line with the approved design, while obstacles must be addressed and the entrance area and access roads to the ceremony site improved.
The chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee instructed departments, units, and local authorities to promptly assess the current situation; remove outdated infrastructure; clean and tidy the landscape; and ensure a green, clean, and beautiful environment, thereby creating the best conditions for the groundbreaking of Gia Binh International Airport.
On the same day, Tuan visited and presented gifts at Tu Ne Church, Tu Ne Hamlet, Luong Tai Commune. There, he listened to the parish priest’s views regarding land allocation and resettlement for households and parishioners affected by the airport project.
He affirmed that the province would make the utmost efforts within its remit to balance the interests of the state, the people, and enterprises. He also expressed his hope that all levels, sectors, local authorities, and religious organisations and priests would continue to promote their role and prestige in encouraging solidarity, consensus, and cooperation among the people throughout the project’s implementation.
He emphasised that the unity and support of the people would be the decisive factor for the project’s smooth implementation, contributing significantly to Bac Ninh’s sustainable development in the future.

Gia Binh International Airport is planned to cover nearly 1,960 hectares across four communes in Bac Ninh Province: Gia Binh, Luong Tai, Nhan Thang, and Lam Thao.
According to Decision No. 1204/QD-BXD (dated 1 August 2025) issued by the Ministry of Construction, this is a national key project, classified as a 4E-level airport capable of accommodating the most modern aircraft, such as the B777, B787, A350, A321, and specialised aircraft.
By 2030, the airport aims to handle 30 million passengers and 1.6 million tonnes of cargo annually. Looking ahead to 2050, the capacity is expected to rise to 50 million passengers and 2.5 million tonnes of cargo per year.
