The series of 10 oil/chemical tankers of 6,500 DWT will be supervised and classed by the Korean Register (KR). Each vessel has a length of 109.45 metres, a width of 12.8 metres, a height of 8.75 metres, and an operating speed of 13.5 knots. These are double-hull oil/chemical tankers designed to meet stringent international standards on safety, environmental protection, and operation. The vessels are equipped to transport a wide range of oil and chemical products, suitable for both regional and international shipping routes.

The signing of the contract and MOU for the construction of the 6,500 DWT tanker series for a Korean shipowner further affirms the reputation and brand of Pha Rung Shipbuilding Company in the international shipbuilding market. It also demonstrates the company’s capacity to meet high technical standards set by major classification organisations such as KR, and its ability to participate more deeply in the Asian shipbuilding supply chain.

The project will also contribute to providing stable employment for workers through to 2031, enhancing technical expertise and promoting technology transfer during the construction process.

At the ceremony, representatives of Pha Rung Shipbuilding Company voiced their commitment to focusing resources, organising construction in a scientific manner, and ensuring quality, progress, and safety, with the aim to fully meet the technical requirements and expectations of the shipowner. A representative of Yentec Co., Ltd., one of the company’s long-standing clients, also expressed confidence in the company’s capability to build this key product line.
