Speaking at the event, VFF General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi hailed that over the past years, the Vietnamese women's national football team has gained excellent achievements, including winning their current streak of four SEA Games gold medal in a row, and earning a ticket to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 finals for the first time.

He reported that the team recently returned from a three-week training session in Germany, during which they had an impressive performance and only lost 1-2 against Germany in an important friendly match in preparation for the FIFA Women’s World Cup final round.

He expressed his belief that with their strong determination, the team will advance further in their upcoming journeys.

At the ceremony, the sponsors presented 1 billion VND in cash and 36 gold certificates of merit which were carved with the name of each member to the players and staff of the Vietnamese women's national football team.

The team will enter a ten-day training session in Hanoi from June 28 before leaving for another session in New Zealand on July 5, during which they will have two friendly matches against the host on July 10 and Spain on July 14.
