According to Deputy Director of Binh Thuan Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vo Thanh Huy, this year's Kate Festival attracted the participation of Cham ethnic people from 6 districts in the province, including Ham Thuan Bac, Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Nam, Ham Tan and Tanh Linh.

The festival opened with a procession of Goddess Po Sah Inu’s costume, folk songs and dances, and Paranung drum performances.

The procession was then followed by a contest of decorating offering trays, a ginger cake-making competition, and many exciting folk games.

Taking place on October 13-14, the festival aimed to pay gratitude to Khmer gods, heroes and ancestors, while praying for favourable weather conditions, happiness, and prosperity.

It also aims to promote community solidarity and mutual support, while raising participants’ awareness of the history and culture of their ethnic group.
