The event is among the activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (30 April 1975–2025).
According to the organisers, this is the largest-scale hot air balloon festival in the country to date, featuring a range of special activities, including tethered balloon rides, free-flight experiences, tours inside balloons, and a lantern night where illuminated balloons create a magical atmosphere.
In addition to the main activities, the festival also includes paragliding displays, performances by light aircraft, giant artistic kite flying, and a brass band performance with the participation of 150 children.

Speaking at the event, Duong Minh Dung, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, emphasised that the Hot Air Balloon Festival is a unique cultural and tourism event marking a new milestone in the province’s strategy to promote its image and tourism potential.
The festival aims to build a distinctive tourism brand, create strong appeal, attract large numbers of domestic and international visitors, and promote the image, brand, land, culture, and people of Dong Nai.
“This is not only a festival of colours, creativity, and investment attraction but also an opportunity for residents and tourists to experience the sensation of flying and to admire the beauty from an ideal altitude,” said Duong Minh Dung.

The vice chairman also noted that the Hot Air Balloon Festival and Investment Promotion Event is a significant occasion for the provincial government to convey key messages to investors both at home and abroad, highlighting Dong Nai as a land full of potential and investment opportunities. This is intended to attract enterprises and corporations to continue investing, expanding, developing, and partnering with Dong Nai in the future.
As part of the programme, leaders from the Dong Nai Department of Finance and Department of Construction provided an overview of the province's investment attraction situation and future orientations. They also promoted and sought investors for projects related to transport infrastructure connectivity, urban development, social housing, water supply, and wastewater treatment.

On the occasion, Dong Nai provincial leaders presented new and additional investment certificates to three foreign-invested projects that were approved in April, with total capital exceeding 150 million USD.
