In early 2024, with the orientation of developing high-tech supporting industries, the Ha Noi Supporting Industry Business Association (HANSIBA) and N&G Group - Joint Stock Company (N&G GROUP) in coordination with Viet Nam-Japan Supporting Industry Development Consulting Co., Ltd., along with manufacturers of aircraft components, aviation, robots, generators, and civil machines in the Kobe Aero Network Japan (KAN) region, signed a cooperation agreement on forming a Viet Nam-Japan Industrial Complex (Technopark) in the HANSSIP.
Seizing the opportunities of the aviation industry
To date, the first phase of the Viet Nam-Japan Technopark has been developed with a chain of factories of enterprises from both sides.
Especially, the first factory producing components for the aerospace industry, high-speed trains, semiconductor manufacturing machines, robots, construction machines, and high-tech agricultural machines, and dual-purpose space products, invested and operated by Onaga Company, has put into trial production according to the aerospace industry process with the support of Boeing Aviation Group (the US).
Onaga Company currently produces small aircraft components such as bushings, used for doors, tripods, flaps, fuel tanks, and many other parts. Despite their small size, these parts must meet high safety and precision standards to serve the international aviation market.
The company has invested in a modern, environmentally friendly equipment system that ensures safety for employees. After processing, the components undergo surface treatment and plating, ensuring durability and quality according to aviation industry standards.
Takayuki Ishida, General Director of Onaga Company in Viet Nam, commented that the Vietnamese aviation market is in a period of strong growth. In 2024, there were 109 million passengers, an increase of 24% in international flights compared with the same period last year. The number of commercial aircraft increased from 134 in 2015 to 254 in 2024; this figure is expected to reach 400 by 2030, with a total of 30 airports.

Major airlines such as Airbus and Boeing continue to expand cooperation, promoting the demand for domestic component production. Therefore, the supply of components and industrial development will create manufacturing industries and jobs in localities through spare parts production factories and supply chain development.
Onaga Company affirms the goal of manufacturing components in Viet Nam and exporting to international markets, while sharing technology, production skills and human resource training, aiming for sustainable development of the domestic supporting industrial supply chain.

“By having a production base in Viet Nam, Japanese companies can diversify their supply chains and scatter risks while transferring technology and contributing to the local economy. Therefore, Onaga Company will cooperate and transfer technology to form a "Made in Viet Nam" aviation components production chain, meeting Japanese standards, contributing to helping Viet Nam improve its industrial capacity, create more high-quality jobs and participate more deeply in the global value chain in the aerospace sector,” the company leader emphasised.
Strengthening cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan
Evaluating the cooperative relationship between the HANSIBA, N&G GROUP, and Onaga Company as a model of Viet Nam-Japan partnership, Ishikawa Isamu, Deputy Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam, shared that the Japanese Government and businesses support Viet Nam's reform orientation towards a "new era".
Japanese enterprises have pledged to contribute to increasing the added value of Viet Nam's industry through strengthening the supply chain, sharing technology and knowledge with Vietnamese enterprises and training human resources.

The Deputy Ambassador of Japan commented that Onaga Company is currently manufacturing aircraft components at HANSSIP, meeting strict standards of safety and precision. These components have been exported and used in the global aviation industry, demonstrating the production capacity of the HANSSIP meeting international standards.
With an area of 640 hectares, HANSSIP is designed by leading Japanese architectural firm Nikken Sekkei following Japanese industrial park standards.
“We hope that the Vietnamese Government and enterprises, including N&G Group, will continue to support Japanese enterprises’ business activities in this locality in the coming time,” said the Deputy Ambassador of Japan.
Creating conditions for the development of supporting industries
HANSSIP is becoming a foundation for extensive cooperation between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises, especially in fields requiring high precision such as the production of aerospace components, high-speed trains, electronics, circuit boards, robots, wireless devices, and dual-use products.

A representative of N&G Viet Nam Group said that the HANSSIP has reached a 100% occupancy rate. The presence of large investors has led to strong demand from satellite enterprises and secondary investors, especially in the supply chain of components and supporting industrial products.
N&G Group is proactively preparing land funds and building factories ready for small and medium-sized enterprises, helping investors only bring machinery and human resources to be able to start production immediately. Priority industries include electronics, precision mechanics, and high-tech products, serving domestic and international production chains.
The phase 2 of the HANSSIP is being implemented according to the Prime Minister's approval, expected to provide 3,000-5,000 square meters of factories and 2-5ha of land funds for medium-sized enterprises. In addition, 2% of the land fund is reserved for small and medium-sized enterprises or high-tech enterprises.
Regarding localisation and capital support, N&G Group coordinates with financial institutions and the Viet Nam Development Bank (VDB) to help small and medium-sized enterprises borrow capital to purchase equipment and deploy production. The group also supports technology transfer, product processing, and high-tech human resources training.

Chairman of N&G Group Nguyen Hoang emphasised that, implementing the policies, orientations and directions of the Party and State of Viet Nam in recent years, the development of industry, especially supporting industry and high technology industry, has been implemented by the Vietnamese business community with many efforts, overcoming difficult challenges to substantially participate in the domestic and international production chains.
One of the important solutions the Vietnamese business community and N&G Group Viet Nam applied is to promote cooperation with their partners and enterprises of developed countries in the world (including Japan) towards supporting each other in technology, processes, and global production certificates; high-tech training for Vietnamese engineers and technical workers; sharing knowledge; and connecting the Vietnamese and international markets.
N&G Group and enterprises in the ecosystem have focused on investing in synchronous industrial park infrastructure, meeting global production chain standards. HANSSIP is perfectly planned with medical, educational, cultural, and housing services for workers, engineers and experts, creating a favourable foundation to promote production cooperation with international partners, including Japan.
“We will continue to cooperate to develop the Viet Nam-Japan Industrial Complex in phase 2 of HANSSIP and in the three regions of North, Central and South Viet Nam,” affirmed Chairman of N&G Group Nguyen Hoang.
