The concert will feature leading Vietnamese vocal soloists, including Meritorious Artist and tenor Ta Minh Tam and soprano Pham Khanh Ngoc, runner-up at the 2016 International Vocal Competition SLO-ASEAN in Singapore.

Pianists Phuong Hanh and Phong Lan and flutist Viet Tu will accompany the vocalists during the show.

The performance will highlight Saigon Choir, comprising over 50 emerging classical singers and performers, which has earned fame with concerts such as “A Broadway Journey” and “International Voices” in collaboration with Yale Alumni Chorus and the opera Carmen.

The programme will include excerpts from Handel’s oratorio Messiah, such as “Hallelujah,” “For unto Us a Child Is Born” and “The Trumpet Shall Sound.”

Messiah is an English-language oratorio composed in 1741. It was first performed in 1742 and has become one of the most frequently performed works during the Christmas season.

The night will continue with classic carols such as “Joy to the World,” “I Hear a Harp Eternal” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

The concert will begin at 8pm at the conservatory’s concert hall.
