Defence minister inquires after military heroes and leaders

Minister of Defence Phan Van Giang visited and inquired after heroes of the armed forces, former defence ministers, and Party and State leaders on July 21 to mark the occasion of the 78th anniversary of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day.

During his visits to former Defence Ministers Generals Pham Van Tra and Ngo Xuan Lich, and former National Assembly Vice Chairman Lieutenant General Dang Quan Thuy, Giang asked after their health and briefed them on recent military tasks undertaken by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of Defence.

He also informed the former leaders of notable activities to be held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

On the same day, Minister Giang offered incense and paid tribute to the late General Vo Nguyen Giap, General Secretary Le Kha Phieu, President Le Duc Anh, as well as Generals Chu Huy Man, Van Tien Dung, Doan Khue, Phung Quang Thanh, Hoang Van Thai, and Le Trong Tan.
