Deputy PM attends National Great Unity Day in Hanoi's Dien Bien ward

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu joined local people in Dien Bien ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi to attend a ceremony to mark National Great Unity Day on November 16.

They reviewed the 85-year tradition of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and 30 years of development of the Dien Bien ward's Fatherland Front, as well as results of patriotic movements and campaigns including 'All people unite to build cultural lifestyle in residential areas’ and 'Day for the Poor'.

In 2015, Dien Bien ward's Fatherland Front co-ordinated with the local People's Committee and People's Council to mobilse the people to follow Party and State policies and to join patriotic movements. The local Fatherland Front has also implemented policies in support of war invalids, families of martyrs, disadvantaged children, people with disabilities and needy people.

The Deputy PM praised efforts made by the Party Committee, authorities and people of Dien Bien ward, saying that the ward has promoted its traditions to boost democracy, unite the people and develop a healthy living environment.

He asked the local Fatherland Front to renew their operations and pay more attention to preventing corruption and maintaining social order.

On the occasion, Deputy PM Phuc and NA Vice Chairman Luu presented gifts to the Dien Bien ward's Fatherland Front and needy and policy beneficiary families in the locality.
