Located at the estuary between Long Hoa Commune and Can Thanh Town in Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City, the project covers a total area of 2,870 hectares.

The event was attended by Nguyen Chi Dung, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Van Duoc, member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; some former Politburo members and representatives of ministries and departments.

The coastal tourism urban area is expected to have a far-reaching impact on Ho Chi Minh City and serve as the growth driver for the entire Southeast region, heralding a breakthrough vision for national-level marine economic development.

The project aspires to become a world-class ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) urban model.

Aiming to build a sustainable urban area powered by renewable energy, Vingroup is also investing in an offshore wind power system located 10 kilometres from the coast to provide clean power to the megacity, contributing to a greener future for the entire region.

The master plan of the project includes distinct zones dedicated to hosting large-scale cultural, artistic, and tourism festivals; a regional financial and economic hub; and modern medical and educational centres following international standards.

Mr Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of Vingroup, affirmed: “We believe that urban development in Can Gio cannot follow the old paths. It requires a completely new approach—one that harmoniously balances development and conservation. This project will be a place where modernity and nature coexist to enhance the quality of human life.”

To ensure synchronised infrastructure development for this mega project, Vingroup has also planned to invest in a high-speed urban railway line connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Can Gio. This strategic initiative aims to establish a new economic value chain and create a long-term growth engine for the southern region.
