Deputy PM works with Standing Board of Hue City Party Committee

Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh on July 30 led a government delegation to work with the Standing Board of the Hue City Party Committee to assess the socio-economic development situation, the operation of the two-tier local government model, and orientations for key infrastructure investment in the area.

Reporting to the Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong said that with the determination of the entire political system and consensus of the people, Hue City has recorded many positive changes, especially for the first time being in the top 10 provinces and cities with the highest GRDP growth rate in the country with an increase of 9.39%.

According to data updated to July 29, Hue City is among the leading localities nationwide in terms of the completion rate of commune-level government tasks; ranked 3rd nationwide in terms of completing all provincial-level targets. The city also recorded outstanding results in administrative reform: the rate of online application submission reached 87.56%, ranking 5th nationwide.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh acknowledged and highly appreciated the socio-economic development efforts of Hue city in the first six months of the year, especially the proactive, decisive and responsible spirit of the city government in organising and operating the new model, ensuring the stability of the apparatus, the mentality of officials and the quality of service to the people.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the city continue to promote the spirit of innovation and dynamism, make the most of resources, focus on successfully implementing socio-economic development goals to create new, long-term development milestones, meeting higher growth requirements, including the goal of striving to achieve a growth rate of more than 10% in the next term.
