The ‘Dieu con mai’ (Things everlasting) concert has become an annual event held on National Day.

The event was organised by VietNamNet newspaper in cooperation with IBgroup, under the direction of the Ministry of Information and Communications.

VietNamNet’s Editor-in-chief Nguyen Van Ba said the national concert was born with the mission of reviving the nation’s brilliant historical memories, thereby inspiring and building confidence in the country’s bright future.

Over the past 13 years, with 10 live shows at the Hanoi Opera House and two online shows, ‘Things everlasting’ has gathered hundreds of artists who have performed hundreds of instrumental and vocal works through the most luxurious form of music, which is symphony music.

“Through beautiful melodies of music, the event is expected to honour the past, express gratitude for the sacrifices of previous generations and convey the beliefs and aspirations of the Vietnamese people, toward prosperity and development,” Nguyen Van Ba emphasised.

The concert presented famous artistic works which have existed through the years, such as Bong cay Ko Nia – The shadows of Ko Nia tree (Phan Huynh Dieu), Ao mua dong – Winter Coat (Do Nhuan), Giai dieu To quoc - Melodies of the Fatherland (Tran Tien) and Dan chim Viet – Vietnamese Birds (Van Cao).

The event also gathered together famous singers of classical chamber music, such as Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Pham Thu Ha, Do To Hoa, Pham Khanh Ngoc and Dao Mac.

The concert had music director Tran Manh Hung, conductor Dong Quang Vinh and IBGroup as the co-producers.

The performance of the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra and Kosmos Opera Choir, the presence of Meritorious Artist Le Giang, a soloist on lute, jazz saxophonist An Tran, and drummer Truong Thi Thu Ha, created both a modern and traditional music space.
