Most businesses are still striving to maintain stable Tet bonuses for the Year of the Horse 2026, or even higher than the previous year. Trade unions and related sectors are enthusiastically taking care of workers to ensure a joyful and thoughtful Tet holiday.

High Tet bonuses and many meaningful activities

After finishing her shift in the afternoon, Thuy Hoe, a worker at TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park), happily returned home after receiving notification that her Tet bonus would be over 22 million VND.

This is the 28th year since she left her hometown in Quang Tri to make a living in Dong Nai, working for this company. In the early years, her family faced many difficulties. Thanks to her hard work, frugality, and a 50 million VND grant from the company’s Trade Union Fund, in 2021, Hoe was able to build a small house to settle down in.

Hoe shared: “I see that the company’s Trade Union is very concerned about the workers. Every year before Tet, they work with the company’s Board of Directors to ensure that workers receive bonuses, gifts, and bus tickets to return home. The cultural and sports exchange programmes are rich and lively, creating a strong bond within the team.”

The Chairman of the Trade Union of TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company, Dinh Sy Phuc, said that the company currently has over 34,000 employees. Along with ensuring a salary increase from the beginning of 2026 as per regulations, during the Lunar New Year, the company decided to give a bonus equivalent to 1.5 months’ salary and a gift worth 500,000 VND to each worker.

In addition, the company, in coordination with the higher-level Trade Union, prepared over 6,000 gift packages to support workers in difficult circumstances, ranging from 800,000 VND to 2 million VND. The company organised a “Springtime Bus Trip” to bring workers from distant hometowns back home for Tet celebrations and then back to work. They will receive two extra days of paid leave. This Tet also marks the first time the company has organised a “Trade Union Year-End Gala” on the 25th day of the 12th lunar month.

The company initiated the “Tet Reunion, Spring Gratitude to the Party” programme on January 31 and February 1, with many practical activities to share with the community, spread love, give gifts to express gratitude to long-serving employees and those in difficult circumstances, award scholarships to workers’ children, and provide support to the families of workers in need.

At Changshin Viet Nam Co., Ltd. (Thanh Phu Industrial Park), the company with the largest number of workers in Dong Nai province with over 41,000 employees, the Chairman of the company’s Trade Union, Dang Tuan Tu, said: This year, the company spent approximately 700 billion VND on bonuses for its employees. Employees who have worked for a full year receive a bonus equivalent to one month’s salary, while those who have worked overtime receive an additional 5% bonus for each year, up to a maximum of two months' salary. Thus, on average, each employee received a bonus of over 17 million VND.

For new employees who have not worked for a full year, the company will still consider and apply an appropriate bonus scheme. All employees will have eight days off for the Lunar New Year (from the 28th of the 12th lunar month to the 6th of the 1st lunar month).

In addition, the company maintains its traditional Tet gift-giving activities, organising warm and joyful year-end parties and celebrations. The company’s labour union will give gifts to all employees, each worth 350,000 VND, restarting the Tet reunion programme and providing financial support for train and bus tickets for workers returning home for Tet.

According to Tu, last year the company recruited approximately 6,000 additional workers to serve increased orders. Currently, the average income of production workers is 11 million VND/person/month.

Ensuring all workers have a Tet holiday

For the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, Dong Nai province received 450 train tickets and 120 airplane tickets from the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour to directly support workers returning home for Tet.

The Dong Nai Provincial Labour Federation also provided 2,200 bus tickets to workers who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet for many years. Over 9,000 shopping vouchers worth 500,000 VND each were given to union members participating in the online Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026.

According to Bui Thi Bich Thuy, Standing Vice President of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, to ensure that all workers have a happy Tet holiday, the unit has been coordinating with grassroots trade unions to negotiate with businesses regarding year-end salaries and bonuses. The Dong Nai Trade Union will provide over 74,000 gift packages (1 million VND in cash each) to workers in difficult circumstances, those who have lost their jobs, or those who have suffered work-related accidents.

The Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labour, in coordination with local authorities and businesses, organised Tet reunions and family gatherings for workers; cultural and sports activities, exchanges, and raffles at industrial parks and worker housing areas, creating a joyful atmosphere for the workers.

According to statistics from the Department of Internal Affairs of Dong Nai province, based on reports from nearly 2,000 businesses in the area, the average Tet bonus for employees in the private sector in 2026 was approximately 11.4 million VND per person, while in foreign-invested enterprises it was slightly higher at 13.3 million VND per person. Most business owners based Tet bonuses on seniority: employees who had worked for a full year received a bonus equivalent to one month's salary; the longer the employee worked, the higher the bonus; and new employees who had worked for less than a year received Tet support from the company at varying levels depending on the specific number of months worked.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Affairs Mai Xuan Tuan, along with businesses providing Tet bonuses to employees, the Trade Union implements meaningful welfare programs, contributing to the stability of labour relations.

Receiving full Tet bonuses motivates workers to become increasingly attached to their businesses, joining hands to build a stronger, more civilised, modern, and happy Dong Nai.

Leaders of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee stated that in 2025, the province's socio-economic development showed many positive signs, with economic growth reaching 9.63%, and budget revenue exceeding 102 trillion VND. The production and business activities of enterprises are assessed as more stable, basic wages are adjusted upwards, and Tet bonuses for employees are improved.

To ensure the rights of workers and stabilize labor relations at the end of the year, relevant agencies continue to monitor and urge businesses to properly implement policies on wages and Tet bonuses. Through this, we can promptly detect and implement solutions to protect the rights of workers, ensuring that all workers have a proper Tet holiday in the spirit of “leaving no one behind.”
