The event formed part of the fourth ‘Xay Tet’ programme, which is being organised by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and Coteccons Construction JSC from December 2025 to February 2026 to support the material and spiritual wellbeing of workers nationwide ahead of the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.

At the event, workers received health consultations, had their hair cut in preparation for the upcoming Tet, and took commemorative photographs with colleagues.

Speaking at the event, Le Nam Tu, Head of the Nhan Dan Newspaper Representative Office in the southern region, said that the ‘Xay Tet’ programme is an expression of gratitude to workers who labour in difficult and hazardous environments to build the image of a green, clean and beautiful city.

The programme is expected to spread kindness and a culture of gratitude more widely, whilst encouraging a sense of responsibility and efforts to build a humane and sustainable working environment.

Nguyen Huu Phan, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Urban Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company, shared that ‘Xay Tet’ not only conveys care during Tet, but also reflects recognition of the quiet contributions of workers in ensuring that the urban infrastructure system operates safely and smoothly.

With the message “Thank you to those who protect happiness”, the ‘Xay Tet’ 2026 programme aims to present more than 30,500 Tet gift packages to workers, and organise various activities to care for their material and spiritual lives, such as health check-ups, haircuts and commemorative photography, helping to bring a warm, abundant and fulfilling Tet season to workers.
