Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Thu Dung, Director of the PAC, emphasised that this was a highly meaningful event, helping to promote the values, historical significance, and lessons of the 80-year journey of the Vietnamese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and President Ho Chi Minh, as conveyed through cinematic works and invaluable documentary films.

During the years of resistance wars, cinema accompanied soldiers and people, faithfully reflecting the realities of war, as well as the determination of the Vietnamese army and people in their struggle.

“Cinematic works are a mirror reflecting history, aspirations, and the spirit of the Vietnamese people for whom nothing is more precious than independence and freedom,” said Colonel Nguyen Thu Dung.

Throughout the film week, eight films will be screened, including four documentaries and four feature films produced by the PAC and other domestic studios.

Through these films, artists and audiences will revisit the glorious past, paying tribute to the immense sacrifices and contributions of earlier generations who gave their lives for national liberation.

Immediately after the ceremony, the audience watched two films: the documentary Cultural Features in Ho Chi Minh’s Military Thought and the feature film Where We Do Not Belong directed by Dang Thai Huyen.
