Forum discusses trade between Vietnam and Latin America

The “Vietnam-Latin America Trade Forum 2022” was held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on November 25.

According to statistics, in 2021, two-way trade between Vietnam and Latin America reached 21.4 billion USD. Which, Vietnam’s exports to Latin America reached 12.5 billion USD, up more than 46% and imports from Latin America into Vietnam reached 8.9 billion USD, an increase of more than 20% compared to 2020.

In the past 10 months of 2022, the total two-way trade between Vietnam and Latin American countries reached 18.7 billion USD, up 10.5% compared to 2021. Which, Vietnam's exports to the US region Latin reached more than 10 billion USD, up 5.3% and Imports from Latin America into Vietnam reached 8.6 billion USD, up 17.3% compared to 2021.

To promote the development of investment cooperation and two-way trade, the forum focused on discussing and updating on the Latin American market situation in the current context, as well as opportunities and challenges for Vietnamese enterprises, in the market of each country in Latin America.

Within the framework of the forum, more than 100 Vietnamese enterprises participated in direct connection activities with 28 Latin American enterprises, in the fields of agricultural products, food, textiles, healthcare, etc., to seek cooperation opportunities.
