At the funeral, on behalf of all staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in New Zealand, Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand Phan Minh Giang expressed his deep condolences at the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong. He emphasised that the death of former President Tran Duc Luong is a great loss to the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the state, the people of Viet Nam, and his family.
To commemorate and express gratitude for the great contributions of former President Tran Duc Luong to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, the ambassador and all officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in New Zealand held a moment of silence and respectfully to bid farewell to him.
Paying tribute, sending condolences and writing the condolence book in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand; ambassadors and representatives of foreign diplomatic agencies in New Zealand; representatives of the New Zealand-Vietnam Friendship Association; and many representatives of associations, organisations, youth, students, and Vietnamese community in New Zealand.
