Hanoi Medical University Rector receives France’s Order of Academic Palms

Professor Dr Nguyen Huu Tu, Rector of Hanoi Medical University, was awarded the noble Order of the French Government for his contributions to developing medical cooperation between the two countries.

On the evening of October 14, the French Ambassador to Vietnam, Olivier Brochet, presented the Order of Academic Palms to Professor Dr Nguyen Huu Tu on behalf of the French Government.

Olivier Brochet highly appreciated Tu’s contributions to connecting and building cooperation exchange programmes, training linkages, and student and lecturer exchanges with long-standing educational institutions in France, such as Sorbonne University, Montpellier Medical University, Aix Marseille Medical University, and others.

Over the past 15 years, Professor Tu and lecturers and students of Hanoi Medical University have developed many activities, creating a solid foundation for cooperation and comprehensive medicine development between Vietnam and France.

Every year, about 200-300 French and Vietnamese students participate in short-term exchange programmes, and more than 30 French lecturers have been awarded the title of Honourary Professor by Hanoi Medical University.

Professor Dr Nguyen Huu Tu was born in 1968 in Thanh Hoa Province. He has been the Rector of Hanoi Medical University since 2021.
