Covering nearly 40,000 square metres, the centre complements a complex of high-end apartments and hotels within the same area near the outermost ring of Moscow.
The centre includes a large supermarket, a food court featuring Russian, Vietnamese and Chinese food, and a children’s playground, among other shopping facilities.
In addition to supporting trade and services, the centre also features several spaces to display and promote typical characteristics of Vietnamese culture.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Nguyen Thanh Son expressed his sincere thanks to the government and people of Moscow’s northeastern region, highlighting the importance of Russian help both in the past and at present.
Deputy head of Moscow’s North-Eastern Administrative Okrug Stanislav Odinokov said he expects the opening of the centre to further promote economic and cultural relations between the two countries.
Along with the opening ceremony, a range of Russian and Vietnamese cultural activities to welcome 2016 attracted visitors to the centre.
