This activity is part of the 24th Viet Nam Film Festival taking place in Ho Chi Minh City.
Delivering the opening remarks, Le Thi Ha, Director of the Viet Nam Film Institute, stated that the exhibition space introduces more than 250 photographs, offering slices of life and multi-dimensional perspectives from cinematographers and photographers on Sai Gon–Ho Chi Minh City, from the historic years of the two resistance wars against foreign invaders and the liberation and reunification of the country (1945–1975) to the period of renewal, integration, and development today.
“The new highlight of the exhibition lies in the application of modern technology in building a Mixed Reality (MR) space and arranging a 360-degree photo booth to enhance emotional experience and create engaging interactions for visitors,” said Ha.
According to the organisers, the works displayed at the exhibition are extracted from archived film materials and cinematographic works preserved at the Viet Nam Film Institute; materials and film works collected from the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Tourism, the Radio and Television Station, and the Cinematographers’ Association of Ho Chi Minh City, depicting filming locations, people, life, and the journey of renewal, integration, and development of Sai Gon–Ho Chi Minh City.
The exhibition is expected to draw the attraction of people from all walks of life, domestic and international visitors, showcasing the resilient beauty of Viet Nam’s national spirit and its people in the cause of protecting and building the Homeland, along with the beauty of life and people in a civilised, modern, and compassionate Ho Chi Minh City, rising together with the nation.
Through this, the exhibition will contribute effectively to promoting and preserving the historical and cultural values of Viet Nam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular; and will become one of the notable highlights of the 24th Viet Nam Film Festival, as well as a congratulatory tribute to the event of Ho Chi Minh City being officially recognised by UNESCO as Viet Nam’s and Southeast Asia’s first Creative City in the field of cinema.
The exhibition runs until November 25.
