The 0-2 defeat against the Netherlands in the last match of Group A on November 29 caused the host Qatar to say goodbye to the 2022 World Cup; meanwhile Senegal beat Ecuador 2-1 to join the Netherlands in the next round. The US and England also won the tickets to the 1/8 round.
