Visitors to Con Ho feel as though they are stepping into a landscape that remains remarkably pristine.
Covering just over 20 hectares, Con Ho Islet is home to 23 households with a total of 82 residents. The only way to reach the islet is by water; once ashore, visitors must walk along the small embankment running beside the river to move from one house to another.
In recent years, thanks to funding support, locals cover the earth road with mats woven from coconut fibre. This prevents mud during the rainy season while creating a unique and appealing experience for visitors.
At present, seven households work together to run self-sufficient community-based tourism services.
Setting foot on Con Ho, visitors find themselves surrounded by lush coconut and pomelo orchards. They can also enjoy various tourism activities such as taking herbal foot baths, joining farmers in the garden, or watching locals weave water hyacinth products.
In addition, tourists can sample delicacies made by local residents, including butterfly pea flower tea, fried banana cakes, candied kumquat, and pomelo sweet soup.
