The mud ball wrestling festival is held in Van Village, Van Ha Commune, Viet Yen District, Bac Giang Province every four years on the 12th to the 15th day of the fourth lunar month. The Van Village mud ball wrestling festival was recognised as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2022.
The festival is held on the main yard of Tam Giang Saint Temple, with an area of about 200m2 and a muddy surface. The court consists of two holes to push the ball down.
