“July Flowers” art programme commemorates fallen soldiers

An art programme entitled “July Flowers” was held in Hanoi on August 1 to commemorate fallen soldiers and war invalids, on the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Fallen Soldiers’ Day.

The event, held by the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, also saw the presence of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

Speaking at the programme, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Nguyen Duc Loi emphasised, that throughout the history of the Vietnamese people and long resistance wars to defend the country, millions of patriotic people sacrificed their youth and lives for the Fatherland. The Fatherland and the Vietnamese people will forever remember their noble sacrifice.

He noted that the programme promotes the strength of national solidarity and the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source”, and expresses gratitude to war invalids, martyrs and revolutionary contributors.

It is also expected to foster a love for the country, national pride, and responsibility to care for national contributors, Loi added.

In addition to artistic performances, the programme also featured touching reports about the sacrifices of war heroes, wounded soldiers, and martyrs during wartime for national independence and reunification, as well as the contributions of soldiers to national development in peacetime, spreading patriotism and national pride among Vietnamese people.
