Located in Vietnam’s northwest region, Lai Chau boasts majestic mountains that create picturesque and magnificent landscapes.
The province currently offers many distinctive tourism products, such as the ASEAN community tourism village of Sin Suoi Ho, an adventure tourism site for paragliding combined with Dao ethnic cultural experiences at Ban O Village, O Quy Ho Pass near Sa Pa, and breathtaking mountain peaks including Bach Moc Luong Tu, Pu Ta Leng, and more.
These are all tourist areas and attractions that have received attention from domestic and international visitors.
Lai Chau currently has 133 tourist accommodation facilities and 150 restaurants.
At present, the province is implementing multiple transport projects aimed at reducing travel time from other localities to Lai Chau, which are expected to contribute to its tourism development in the coming years.
Nevertheless, Lai Chau tourism still faces many difficulties as one of the most remote provinces, with underdeveloped transport infrastructure.
To strengthen cooperation between both sides and to provide Hanoi travel businesses with new products, representatives of travel businesses have proposed many solutions to increase Lai Chau’s tourism appeal and are committed to working with the province to boost promotion of destinations in the province.
The UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club will specifically enhance promotion of Lai Chau as a destination through the club’s communication channels, organise caravan programmes and offer Lai Chau tours to visitors in the coming period.
Representatives of Hanoi businesses also requested that Lai Chau’s tourism sector organise training courses to improve the quality of local human resources, accommodation facilities and service businesses, while also boosting its tourism appeal through social media platforms.
