Ministers to join Q&A activities at National Assembly session

At the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son and Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang will participate in question-and-answer (Q&A) activities during a one-and-a-half-day hearing, from June 19 to the end of the morning session on June 20.

The National Assembly Standing Committee has submitted a report explaining and responding to the opinions of deputies regarding the organisation of the question-and-answer session at this sitting.

Accordingly, the topics selected by the National Assembly for questioning fall under two main areas: education and training, and finance.

The two ministers responsible for directly responding to questions will be Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son and Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang.

The Q&A session will take place over one and a half days from June 19 to the morning of June 20 under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son will address issues relating to the field of education and training. The focus will be on the current situation and solutions to improve the quality of higher education, linked to the goal of developing a high-quality workforce to meet socio-economic development needs.

Especially noteworthy is the inclusion of questions concerning the implementation of legal regulations on private tutoring, both teaching and learning. Other issues include ensuring a safe, healthy and friendly educational environment; preventing school violence; and maintaining food safety and hygiene in schools.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and the Ministers of Finance; Home Affairs; Health; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Science and Technology; and Public Security will also participate in answering questions and providing further explanations on related matters.

Following that, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang will address issues relating to financial policy measures for socio-economic development, safeguarding growth targets, revitalising traditional growth drivers, and identifying and accelerating new sources of growth.

Topics selected for questioning will also cover solutions to enhance the efficiency of state-owned enterprises; support and promote the private sector as a key driver of the economy; and strengthen the attraction of foreign direct investment (FDI).

Mechanisms and policies for promoting investment and developing industrial parks and economic zones are also included in the agenda.

Deputy Prime Ministers Ho Duc Phoc and Nguyen Chi Dung, along with the ministers of industry and trade, agriculture and environment, construction, science and technology, and foreign affairs, will also participate in answering questions and elaborating on related matters.

According to the schedule, from 10:20 a.m. on June 20, the prime minister (or an authorised deputy prime minister) will report on issues concerning the government’s governance and respond directly to questions from National Assembly deputies.
