The delegation inspected sites where activities under the exercise are expected to take place. At the inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang praised and highly appreciated the relevant agencies and units for their proactive efforts and their determination to overcome difficulties and ensure thorough preparations.
He asked the relevant agencies and units to, on the basis of their assigned tasks, continue upholding their sense of responsibility and strengthen coordination to ensure that the exercise is conducted in accordance with the plan, with quality, progress, and absolute safety guaranteed.
They were also requested to maintain regular coordination with the Lao and Cambodian armed forces and promptly address any difficulties that may arise to ensure the success of the exercise. He stressed that the exercise is a practical activity in defence cooperation between Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia.
The 2026 joint civil defence exercise between the armed forces of Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia is part of the defence external relations plan for 2026, contributing to strengthening the traditional ties, solidarity, friendship, and close bonds between the three neighbouring countries. It will also enhance the capacity of the three armed forces for coordinated action in responding to natural disasters, minimising loss of life and property, and helping ensure the safety and well-being of the people.
The exercise is scheduled to take place in October, with the participation of the ministers of National Defence of Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia.
