The forum honours generations of mechanical engineers while exploring the evolving role of a new workforce equipped to harness digital technologies, data and smart manufacturing ecosystems.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Truong Thi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, said the city remains one of Viet Nam's key economic growth engines, with manufacturing serving as a core pillar of its economy.
He noted that MTA Viet Nam 2026 provides an important platform for Vietnamese enterprises to stay abreast of technological advances and strengthen their participation in the supply chains of foreign-invested enterprises and global manufacturers, particularly in supporting industries.
Running through July 4, it also features a series of specialised seminars organised in partnership with the Viet Nam Robotics Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Supporting Industry Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Mechanical Engineering, VINATEST, the Viet Nam Association of Mechanical Industry, and international technology organisations.
