Chairman Man made the request while co-chairing a joint conference on March 17 reviewing coordination between the NA Standing Committee and the Presidium of the VFF Central Committee in 2025 and outlining priorities for 2026.
According to the top legislator, the Politburo has issued Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW on reforming law-making and law enforcement to meet national development requirements in the new era. Meanwhile, the NA adopted Resolution No. 197/2025/QH15 on special mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in the formulation and implementation of laws.
He urged the two sides to apply these policies to support officials, civil servants, experts and others engaged in law-making, thereby promoting their capacity and improving the quality of legislative work in the coming time. He suggested the NA’s Council for Ethnic Affairs and committees strengthen consultations with advisory councils under the VFF Central Committee when verifying draft laws and resolutions.
The two sides should also actively coordinate in implementing the NA’s 2026 supervision programme and enhance cooperation to improve the quality of voter contact activities conducted by NA deputies and People’s Council deputies at all levels.
Praising the effective cooperation between the two agencies, Chairman Man said that in 2025 they worked closely in amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution, contributing to the adoption of the amendment resolution with unanimous approval from all deputies present.
They also coordinated in revising the Law on the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, the Law on Trade Unions, the Law on Youth, and the Law on the Implementation of Grassroots Democracy Regulations, while working together to prepare for the election of deputies to the 16th NA and People’s Councils at all levels, which was successfully held on March 15.
Noting that 2026 has been identified as a year of acceleration toward achieving double-digit economic growth, the NA Chairman urged stronger coordination in proposing policies to competent authorities aimed at promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defence and security, building a clean and strong political system, strengthening external relations, and intensifying the fight against corruption, wastefulness and other negative phenomena.
He also called on the VFF to intensify communications and supervision of the implementation of the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, ensuring close engagement with the people and a better understanding of their aspirations and concerns.
Co-chairing the event, President of the VFF Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai stressed that 2026 holds special significance as it marks the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the beginning of the 16th NA and the People’s Council at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.
She emphasised that cooperation between the NA and the VFF should be strengthened in a more proactive and substantive manner, closely linked with the realities of people’s lives, thereby helping strengthen the close relationship between the legislature and the people.
