Many athletes come from strong teams such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Binh Thuan, and Quang Nam.
The athletes will compete in 29 sets of individual and team medals, in both the men's and women's demonstration and combat categories.
The five-day competition is co-organised by the Vietnam Sports Administration, the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation, and the Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
It aims to provide an opportunity to review the training of taekwondo across the country while selecting excellent athletes for the national taekwondo team, which is to compete in upcoming major sporting events, including the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China this September.
