The event was launched by the General Department of Environment, under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Centre for Science and Technology Development and the World Bank in Vietnam, and the Centre for Ecological Community Development.
The contest received over 200 photos by young people from many provinces and cities around the country. The first prizes went to the photos entitled “Te te vo toi” (Innocent pangolin) by Lam Ngoc Huyen and “Gau con mat me” (Little bear loses mother) by Hoang Phuoc Dai.

In addition, the works “Bao ve dong vat la bao ve chinh minh” (Animal protection is protection of yourself) by Nguyen Xuan Quang and “Dong vat cung can duoc yeu thuong” (Animals also need love) by Le Gia Hung were second-prize winners.
Ta Thuy Duong and Nguyen Thi Xuan Cam were awarded third prize for their photos “Tan nhan” (Cruelty) and “Thoi trang tranh xa dong vat” (Fashion keeps off animals).
The contest aimed to raise public awareness of wildlife protection, as well as change the behaviours of protecting animals.
Wildlife protection is one of the urgent issues today, when many animal species are at risk of extinction due to hunting and trading activities.
