The 2-kilometre long bridge cost almost VND1 trillion (US$44 million) and connects Quang Binh’s capital city of Dong Hoi with the neighbouring commune of Bao Ninh.

Located around 3 kilometres south of Nhat Le 1 Bridge, the cable-stayed Nhat Le 2 Bridge is 23.6 metres wide and consists of four lanes. The bridge’s largest span is 150 metres and has a tower height of 97.5 metres.

According to the Director of the Quang Binh Department of Transport, Pham Quang Hai, this is the second long-span cable-stayed bridge, after the Rach Mieu Bridge in the Mekong Delta, which has been constructed entirely by Vietnamese engineers.

The bridge is complete after five years of construction.

Quang Binh Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai said that the Nhat Le 2 is one of the province’s key infrastructure projects required to tap into the tourism potential of Bao Ninh commune and improve the province’s coastal road network.
