Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 5 presented a decision appointing Nguyen Quoc Doan, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, as Standing Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate.
PM Chinh said Doan is a well-trained and experienced official with strong expertise in the security sector. Over his 27-year career, he has held several key positions at both central and local levels, including Director of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Department of Public Security, Deputy Secretary of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Lang Son provincial Party Committee, and Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court.
In every position, Doan has demonstrated his political mettle, professional integrity, dynamism, and creativity, and has always fulfilled his duties with distinction, the government leader said.
The PM noted that in recent years, the Government Inspectorate has achieved significant results, contributing to national development and governance. It has acted as a “shield protecting discipline and the rule of law” and remains a key instrument of the Party and the State in inspection, supervision, and the fight against corruption, wastefulness, and misconduct, thereby reinforcing the integrity of the State apparatus and public trust.
Looking ahead, he stressed that the inspectorate faces increasingly complex challenges amid decentralisation and efforts to strengthen power control and combat corruption and waste. He urged the Party Committee and leadership of the Government Inspectorate to build a clean, strong organisation and enhance the capacity and accountability of its members.
He requested that the inspection system must be streamlined into a more efficient two-tier model at central and local levels, and that provincial and municipal chief inspectors must not be local residents, with proposals submitted to the Government by December 15, in line with the Politburo's guidance.
The PM also emphasised the need to strengthen citizen reception and the settlement of petitions and long-standing cases.
In his remarks, Doan pledged to devote his full efforts to his new role with the highest sense of responsibility, continuously studying and cultivating himself in accordance with President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style.
Doan affirmed that, together with the Government Inspectorate’s leadership, he would uphold the tradition of solidarity, unity, and dedication, overcome challenges and difficulties, and contribute his best to the common cause so that the inspection sector truly serves as a sharp sword of the Party and the State, and a trusted support for the people.
