Congratulating the veterans on the anniversary, President Sang praised the massive efforts and feats of arm of the units in the national struggle to defend the country.

He said he believed that the traditions of the division would be upheld by the younger generations.

He expressed his hope that the retired soldiers would continue to be exemplary models for the youth to follow and make contributions to enhancing Party building.

The delegates expressed their hope that Party, State, government and relevant ministries, sectors and local authorities would pay more attention to the search and repatriation of remains of fallen soldiers, and care for martyrs, soldiers and families affected by Agent Orange/dioxin.

Division 324 was established on July 1, 1955 in Trieu Duong commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province, grouping battle-hardened regiments in the south central region.

Over the past 60 years, the division experienced around 10 years of fighting on the South front, making significant contributions to the liberation of the South and national reunification.

In peacetime, the division has fulfilled its assigned task of training soldiers to be ready to respond and fight in any possible circumstance.
