Under the plan, Da Nang is expected to become a major socio-economic hub of the country and Southeast Asia at large, in terms of entrepreneurship, innovation, tourism, commerce, finance, logistics, high-tech industry, information technology, and support industries.
Accordingly, Da Nang will boost its tourism development associated with maritime tourism; inland waterway tourism; ecotourism & community-based tourism; cultural, historical and spiritual tourism; and general entertainment tourism & shopping.
The city will focus its investment on implementing a number of key projects, including a financial, commercial, service and entertainment complex; a cultural and entertainment park; VinaCapital Da Nang golf course; a complex of works serving the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival; a thematic park south of the Son Tra Peninsula; Ba Na-Suoi Mo Ecotourism Complex; the Lang Van general resort tourist area; and the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort.
In addition, Da Nang will go ahead with some high-tech development projects across a total area of about 1,710 hectares, including Da Nang High-Tech Park and Expanded High-Tech Park; Centralised Information Technology Areas 1 and 2; and Software Parks 1, 2 and 3; alongside the establishment of an innovation cluster south of the city in association with the Da Nang University Urban Area, the Innovation Center and the Da Nang Software Park. Some new industrial clusters covering 83 hectares will also be formed, such as Cam Le, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Khanh Nam, and Hoa Hiep Bac.
A number of large transport projects will also be implemented in Da Nang under the revised master plan, such as the continued upgrading and expansion of Da Nang International Airport, which is expected to be capable of handling 30 million passengers per year and will meet the 4E standards of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
