Programme supports fishermen in Tien Giang

The Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper coordinated with the People’s Committee of Tien Giang Province to organise the programme to support fishermen in Vam Lang Town, Go Cong Dong District, in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang on May 31.

The event was attended by former Politburo member and former Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh.

The Organising Committee visited and gave gifts to three fishermen: Nguyen Hoang Tam, and Le Kien Cuong, both living in the Lang 3 neighbourhood and Diep Hoang Minh, living in the Cho 1 neighbourhood, Vam Lang Town, Go Cong Dong District.

They also awarded 200 gifts to fishermen (each gift worth more than 5 million VND) including batteries, light bulbs, medicine bags, specialized rope rolls and vouchers worth 1 million VND; awarded 25 scholarships, each worth 2 million VND in cash and 10 notebooks for students in fishermen's families; presented 200 gifts to children on International Children's Day June 1, each gift worth about 1 million VND, including school kits, notebooks, battery pack, fresh milk, fruit milk trees, cakes, candy, sausages, instant noodles and 300,000 VND in cash.

The Organising Committee is scheduled to provide a free medical examination for 500 fishermen in Tien Giang Province on June 2.
