Under the MoU, the two sides will work together to popularise Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and legal documents among the public; build a strong political system; and facilitate the socio-economic development, and poverty reduction in Nghe An province.

The Vietnam Coast Guard will also provide support for Nghe An fishermen at sea while maintaining national maritime security and sovereignty of the sea and islands.

Annual plans will be built to deploy the MoU and the implementation will be reviewed every two years.

At the ceremony, the two sides presented 200 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and poor fishermen in Nghe An province.

Nghe An is the 27th coastal locality to ink such an MoU with the Vietnam Coast Guard. The MoU aims to mobilise the joint effort from the authorities and people of coastal localities, in boosting socio-economic development and assisting fishermen in disadvantaged areas.
