APAG expands international training, strengthens Viet Nam–RoK education ties

Twenty-nine Korean trainees will participate in the “Global Young Business Manager” programme at the Academy of Public Administration and Governance (APAG) in 2026. The programme aims to provide trainees with comprehensive insights into Viet Nam, the country’s working and business environment, and the competencies needed to work effectively in a multicultural setting.

In Ha Noi on the morning of June 15, the APAG, in coordination with the Daewoo Global Management Institute of the RoK, held the opening ceremony for the 2026 Global Young Business Manager (GYBM) programme.

The programme will run until December 23, 2026. It is designed to provide trainees with a deep understanding of Viet Nam and its working and business environment, while helping them develop the necessary competencies to study, adapt, and work effectively in an international context.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr Nguyen Ba Chien, Director of the APAG, welcomed the 29 Korean trainees who had chosen Viet Nam and the academy as the starting point for a new journey of learning, experience, and development. He also emphasised the significance of the programme in the context of the strongly growing Viet Nam–RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

“The GYBM programme carries significance beyond the scope of an ordinary training course. It is not only cooperation between two training institutions, but also an investment in the younger generation — those who will help build new bridges of connection between Viet Nam and the RoK in the decades to come,” Associate Professor Dr Nguyen Ba Chien said.

Also speaking at the ceremony, Kim Jung In, Director of the GYBM programme, expressed his enthusiasm that the course was officially launched at the APAG, marking a new step forward in training cooperation between the institutions.

He noted that the GYBM is not only a programme that supports overseas employment, but also a model for training global talent, aimed at nurturing a young generation of leaders with international integration capabilities.

Over the past 15 years, the programme has trained more than 1,500 participants, many of whom are now holding pivotal positions in businesses in Viet Nam and other Southeast Asian countries.

As the global landscape undergoes profound transofrmations driven by globalisation, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence, the programme is expected to equip trainees not only with professional knowledge but also with adaptability, multicultural cooperation skills, trust-building capacity, and the ability to develop international relations.
