Accordingly, by 2030, at least 80% of school students will be equipped with basic knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence (AI); 100% of university students and at least 80% of vocational education learners will be equipped with knowledge and skills in AI, ethics, and data safety. At least 90% of officials, civil servants, and public employees will receive AI skills training, while at least 10 million workers will be trained and upskilled in basic AI skills.
The Programme aims to train and develop at least 50,000 people with university-level qualifications or higher who are proficient in applying AI in key industries and sectors, as well as 10,000 highly qualified and specialised AI professionals, including at least 1,500 experts capable of researching and mastering core technologies and leading key AI initiatives.
To achieve these objectives, the Programme will implement seven groups of tasks, focusing on improving the institutional framework, developing a pool of experts, expanding access to AI education and reskilling, linking training with businesses and the labour market, and developing infrastructure, data resources, and practical training environments.
By 2035, Viet Nam targets ranking among the region's leading countries in AI human resource development capabilities.
