More computers presented to needy students

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s Hanoi chapter has received a donation of 43 sets of computers to present to 43 needy students in the city in response to the ‘Internet and computers for students’ programme.

The ‘Internet and computers for students’ programme, launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s Hanoi chapter, has so far received nearly VND500 million and more than 3,000 devices serving online learning donated by benefactors.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s Hanoi chapter Nguyen Lan Huong said that Hanoi has more than 10,000 students of needy families who do not have online learning equipment. She called for further support for the charity programme to assist students in their online learning.

*On September 26, Binh Phuoc Province also launched the ‘Internet and computers for students’ programme to support needy students in the locality during social distancing period due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the launch ceremony, the province raised over VND25 billion and thousands of devices in support of online learning to send to disadvantaged students.

More than 100,000 students in the province do not have devices for online learning but thanks to the programme about 85,000 students have been equipped with online learning devices so far.

*The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Ho Chi Minh City Chapter on September 26 presented 100 tablets worth VND3.3 million each to needy Cham and Khmer ethnic minority students.

The tablets were sourced from the Fund for the protection of ethnic minority and needy students managed by the People’s Public Security Newspaper.
