Tet gifts presented to trade union members and workers in Phu Yen

As many as 200 Tet gifts, worth a total of 250 million VND, were presented to disadvantaged workers and trade union members in Phu Yen province, at a programme held by the provincial Trade Union, on January 12, for the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday 2022.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, conveyed his best wishes for a happy new year to participants.

He stressed that the entire political system has made joint efforts to care for workers and those whose livelihoods have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He called on the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and local authorities, to mobilise more resources to support workers and the poor, particularly on the occasion of upcoming lunar New Year festival.

He also expressed his hope that workers, businesses and people from all walks of life, will continue standing together to implement regulations on safe, flexible adaptation to and effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Phu Yen provincial Trade Union, nearly 550 million VND has been donated to the union by businesses and benefactors over the past month, to bring a happy Tet to trade union members, and underprivileged workers throughout the locality.
